“Festival Prelude” – Night Marathon of Young Talents will run until midnight.

Festival Opening Concert “Summer Sonata”

Romantic and lively summer program featuring J. Brahms, C. M. Weber, R. Strauss, J. Strauss, F. Lehar, M. K. Čiurlions,C. Bolling and other composers will be played by renowned musicians while a 14 year old up-and-coming Lithuanian talent and a trio will give a surprise performance to the concert audience.

Performers:Algirdas Budrys (clarinet), Ekaterina Starodubrovskaya (soprano), Aleksandra Žvirblytė (piano)

 “Color Symphony”

Vytautas Landsbergis will perform M. K. Čiurlionis’ piano pieces accompanied by the projected images of M. K. Čiurlionis’ paintings.

5:00 pm –Professor V. Landsbergis’ lecture “M. K. Čiurlionis and Palanga”

AT THE KURHAUS (1 Grafų Tiškevičių Alley):

8:00 pm – “Only CHOPIN”

Lukas Geniušas, one of the most outstanding young performers in Europe and elsewhere, a Lithuanian star pianist and the Laureate of F. Chopin Piano Competition will play romantic piano pieces by F. Chopin.

Swedish ensemble “Artic DUO” – Tania Naranjo (piano), Rocio Olalde (soprano) – will magnetize the audience with temperamental vocal and piano music opuses by Latin American composers (Salvador Moreno, Leonardo Velázquez, Eduardo Cáceres, Héitor Villa-Lobos, Alberto Ginastera and others).

 “Visiting Clara Schumann’s Home”

The elegant pianist Guoda Gedvilaitė will invite you to catch a glimpse of Clara Schumann’s cozy home which had always been filled with the sound of music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Clara & Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms.

AT “KUPETA” EXHIBITION PAVILION (13 Dariaus ir Girėno Str.):

Festival Closing Concert

The closing act of the Festival will feature the performance of the piano aristocrat Darius Mažintas and the Kaunas VDU Chamber Orchestra (Artistic Director Robertas Bliškevičius) playing the legendary String Quartet in C minor by  M. K. Čiurlionis, the majestic Concert in D  minor by Baroque Genius J. S. Bach and the enchantic Suite “From Holberg’s Time” by E. Grieg.
