Festival in Vilnius 2015

 karaliu_pasakaSeptember 29  – Festival Opening Concert.  An outstanding Lithuanian pianist Lukas Geniušas  and violonist Aylen Pritchin perform in the Renaissance Hall of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. On the program: M.K. Čiurlionis, F. Chopin, L. van Beethoven, F. Liszt, I. Stravinsky, and P. Tchaikovsky.

October 4 – The Order of St. Casimir Project “Vivere Bonum Faciendo”. Boys choir ” Dagilėlis”, Lithuanian pianists dynasty – V. Vitaitė, A. Žvirblytė and P. Andersson. Venue: Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania.

October 6 – in the Museum of Applied Art pianist dynasty from Poland: Jaroslaw Drzewiecki,  Stanislaw Drzewiecki and Jekaterina Sarajeva-Drzewiecka (Latvia-Poland) – three musicians of the highest order performing in prestigious venues worldwide. On the program: F. Chopin, R. Schumann, A. Skriabin, F. Schubert, J. Brahms, A. Zarebski, and S. Rachmaninov  piano two, four and six- hand pieces.

October 14 – an evening of  Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis’ unrecognized musical cycles performed by the celebrated Lithuanian pianists: Petras Geniušas, Jurgis Karnavičius, Sergėjus Okruško, Aleksandra Žvirblytė and others. The concert is the follow-up  of the 15th  conference “The Principles of  Musical Composition. The Phenomenon of  Melody” to mark the 140th anniversary of M.K.Čiurlionis birth.

October 16  Concert “Names of the Future” featuring young talents playing  entertaining musical pieces with various instruments at the Museum of Applied Art. N. Albrichtas, E. Fedorcovaitė, A. Gocentas, U. Kavaliauskaitė, K. Kerbedytė, I.O. Kuprevičiūtė, G. Sutkutė.

October 20 – Concert “The Whiff of Love”. V. Kuprevičienė (soprano), I.O. Kuprevičiūtė (flute), A. Žvirblytė (piano) in the Museum of Applied Art.

October 23 – FESTIVAL PREMIERE at the Dance Theatre of the National M.K.Čiurlionis Art School: a ballet scene specifically composed for the Festival and based on M.K.Čiurlionis music. Performers: ballet dancers of the National M.K. Čiurlionis Art School, pianists A. Žvirblytė, V. Vitaitė and K. Ivanauskaitė-Jucienė, jazz pianist O. Molokojedov, flutist V. Kaziulytė, a string quartet and actors.

October 29 – Festival Closing Concert at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania featuring Kevin Kenner – a piano star from the USA, the winner of  prestigious F. Chopin, P. Čaikovskij, Van Cliburn, Gina Bachauer competitions who will perform F. Schubert – Moments musicaux, Wanderer Fantasy, F. Chopin – Mazurkas, and Sonata h-moll, Op.58.
